About this home
Three floors: the kitchen and living room on the main floor, three bedrooms on the second, and two more bedrooms, a second living room and a covered deck on top.
Main floor
- Kitchen built for a group: a big island with five stools, two full-size fridges, a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.
- Open living and dining room with a TV, sofa, loveseat, two recliners, and a dining table with chairs and benches.
- Two sliding doors, one out to the fenced patio and one to the side walkway.
- Half bath.
Second floor
- Three bedrooms, each with a TV and ceiling fan. One has a bay window and another has a lighted vanity mirror.
- Two full baths, one with a tub.
Top floor
- A second living room with a vaulted ceiling, skylights, a TV and two futons. Kids and teens tend to claim it.
- Two bedrooms. One has a desk and a sliding door out to the deck; the corner room catches a glimpse of the water through the trees.
- Full bath with a long vanity and a stall shower.
- Covered deck with a table for five and a slice of ocean over the treetops. In summer the leaves hide part of the view; once they drop, you see more.
Outside
- Fenced patio out back with two tables that seat eight together, two umbrellas and a grill.
- Front porch with a rocking chair, and free parking at the house.
Throughout
- Air conditioning, ceiling fans in every bedroom, and baseboard heat for cool nights.
- Washer and dryer, wifi, fresh bed linens and bath towels.
The whole house is yours: all three floors, the covered top-floor deck, the fenced back patio and the parking out front. Self check-in with a keypad on the front door.

A quiet residential street that runs straight down to Ocean Road and Scarborough State Beach, about an 8-minute walk. From the north end of the beach, a coastal trail leads out to Black Point and its old stone mansion ruins. A few minutes' drive gets you clam cakes at Aunt Carrie's (seasonal), doughboys at Iggy's, Point Judith Lighthouse, and the fishing boats in Galilee, Rhode Island's largest commercial fishing port.
The beach is a walk; for most everything else you'll want a car. The Block Island Ferry in Galilee is about 6 minutes away, Stop & Shop about 6, and Narragansett Town Beach and the Pier about 10. Newport is about 35 minutes over the toll bridge, Providence 45 to 50, and TF Green airport 35 to 45. Kingston Amtrak station is about 25 minutes.
Good to know before you book:
- Every bedroom is upstairs: three on the second floor and two on the top. Worth knowing if anyone in your group skips stairs.
- Out back is a fenced patio made for eating outside rather than a lawn: stamped concrete and gravel, no grass.
- The ocean view from the top floor is a peek over the trees and rooftops, and summer leaves screen part of it. The beach itself is an 8-minute walk.
- Scarborough is one of Rhode Island's most popular beaches, so peak summer weekends are busy. You'll walk in, so parking is never your problem. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
- Pets are allowed.
- No parties or events, and no smoking.
